Daftar Pustaka Terekomendasi Kesulitan Makan dan Picky Eaters Pada Anak

Masalah makan diperkirakan terjadi pada hingga 25% dari anak-anak yang berkembang normal dan hingga 35% dari anak-anak dengan cacat perkembangan saraf. Salah satu definisi umum dari masalah makan adalah ketidakmampuan atau penolakan untuk makan makanan tertentu.

Masalah dengan makan dapat menyebabkan gejala sisa nutrisi, perkembangan dan psikologis yang signifikan. Karena tingkat keparahan gejala sisa ini terkait dengan usia saat onset, derajat dan durasi masalah makan, pengenalan dini dan manajemen penting. Pedoman untuk mengidentifikasi masalah makan dalam tiga tahun pertama kehidupan; untuk menyajikan instrumen yang baru dikembangkan untuk menilai adanya masalah pemberian makan dan memantau efek manajemen dan untuk menggambarkan strategi manajemen dasar yang dapat menghilangkan atau memperbaiki disfungsi makan.

Proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan oleh orang tua sejak dini. Proses tersebut setidaknya harus dioptimalkan pada saat proses tumbuh kembang anak meningkat dengan pesat, yaitu pada usia 0 sampai 5 tahun atau biasa disebut fase golden age. Pada fase ini, telah diperkirakan bahwa lebih dari 200 juta anak balita (bawah lima tahun) di negara berkembang tidak mencapai potensi perkembangan secara optimal dan sebanyak 11,5 % anak balita di Indonesia mengalami kelainan tumbuh kembang. Oleh karena itu, proses tumbuh kembang anak balita perlu dilakukan seoptimal mungkin mengingat jumlah balita di Indonesia yang sangat besar, yaitu sekitar 10% dari seluruh populasi.
